Two Birds, Both of Them Paint-Soaked Chickens

I've been keeping a file of journal entries—well, potential blog posts—on my computer, but I've been too timid to take the plunge. I guess now is as good a time as any. This one I titled "Two Birds," and after over 3 months, I have come to realize the birds must be chickens. This one's not much in the way of power or persuasion but is just a way to get started, much the way a classmate in an art class once told me to throw a paint-soaked sponge at my blank canvas in order to keep myself from staring, uninspired, at that blank canvas. Can I do this just for myself, much the way that the thousands of photos of my daughter on my Facebook page are really just for me to look at when she’s napping and I miss her? Let’s be realistic. I probably can’t do it every day. I wouldn’t have the time, or the content. But maybe I can just write when I feel like it and use the format as a way to get writing. Get writing, now there’s another resolution. Hmm…two birds and all that...
